My birthday was pretty uneventful… it fell on a Monday as usual, so I worked. However they had changed my schedule and so I didn’t have any classes. I’d also already planned my Christmas lessons, so I didn’t really have much at all to do.
On Sunday, Kenji and I went out for pizza at Pizza Stadium. The first time we went was really hilarious… all four of us piled in and surprised the worker. He was really nervous and kept bowing, and gave us some cokes as “service”, or for free. Since then, we keep coming back because they make good pizza, and he always gives us cokes as service. We learned he’s the son of the owner, who is a really nice lady who says hi to us everytime we come in. One of Kenji’s old students also works there, so we always go to the same place. Anyway, we told him it was my birthday, so he threw in some free stuff on top of the cokes, and put a cute note on my pizza as well!
Sunday night we went out to my favorite izakaya (Japanese drinking bar is the best way I can translate it, though it has food and stuff…), Anzu, for a small celebration with Ken, Shauna, Kenji and I. Since we all had to work in the morning though we didn’t party hard or anything like that.

That was it for celebrations for my birthday… Kenji got me a new ipod that is pretty and green and I love it very much, and Shauna got me kitty slippers which I also love!
Later in the week, we went over to Kyoko-sensei’s to go out to one of their favorite restaurants to celebrate both mine and Shauna’s birthdays. Shauna and I each have our own theme over at their house… Shauna’s is sakura, or cherry blossoms, and mine is cats. So I received a cat tea cup, chopsticks, and chopstick holder from Meg, Riku, and Kei-kun, and Kyoko-sensei gave me a really nice pencil in a special case to always study with! They took us both out, plus Kenji, and so it was a fun night!
So that was my birthday!
