Right, obviously I didn’t do a great job of getting posts upped before Korea, so now I have twice as much to do! Luckily, school doesn’t officially start until tomorrow, so I have time here at work since I’m doing nothing. More on that later!

For St.Patrick’s Day, Kenji and I headed to Maebashi for a true Guinness at a (British actually) pub called The Dubliners. Except we didn’t realize the train schedule, so we had to catch a taxi quick to Takasaki station in order to catch the last train home, or be stuck with taking a taxi the WHOLE way back to Fujioka. It sucked, because right as we were leaving, a few JETs came in, and it promised to be a fun night. So we went to mummy bar when we got home and chilled with Hiro for awhile instead.

The Guinness. The only beer I can stand to actually drink more than a pained sip of.

Mummy bar’s pool table of alcohol.

That weekend was a three day weekend, so we had Friday off to go see the Yoshida Brothers concert in Maebashi. Yoshida Brothers play shamisen, a traditional Japanese instrument, and they are amazing at it. The concert tickets were a bit steep, but I definitely didn’t want to miss it! We weren’t… really allowed to take pictures, but at the same time I saw no signs saying we couldn’t, so I got a few terrible ones.

Tickets and flyer. Got a program and a CD at the end of it as well!

And a rather neat one of the shadow thrown by the lighting!

Saturday we went (one last time?) to Joetsu Kokusai in Niigata. Scott and Brandt had season passes they had to use there, otherwise we would have gone to another mountain with more snow, because Joukoku was pretty bare. Despite that, I did really well and finally began to really get the hang of boarding and was disappointed that was (probably) the last run of the season. Figures it works like that!

I have the same pictures from previous trips with a LOT more snow!

Still, there was enough to board in! We just had to go higher.

The benefit was less people, which meant less of a line and a table for lunch!

Scott, Mizuki, and Mayu chillin while we waited for… something. I think at this point there may have been snowballs involved.

We found a cool kamakura by one of the lifts

And a little snowman god to pray to for powder!

Waiting for everyone to quit goofing off and get on the lift!

We decided to stop for a group photo at one point. let’s go all the way over there for a picture! except no one followed them XD

Photobucket
We did finally get everyone over for a great group picture! We rested the camera on Scott’s bindings, which was an ingenious idea. perfect picture!

And after that, of course, more goofing around!

One last on the lift!

So that was our last snowboarding trip, except we might go again this weekend (last one I promise, right?) However, right now is sakura season with flowers blooming all over the place, so we’ll see. I’m kinda already out of the snowboard mindset…
