Sunday we woke up at a decent hour and headed out to Takenuma, the alien-finger lake where Nishi had its marathon last year. Again, we were a bit early for Sakura, but were still willing to go and walk around and enjoy the nice weather after Korea being so cold! It was still chilly, but getting better day-by-day it seemed!

Small for a matsuri, but still early!

The lake is surrounded by Cherry Blossom trees, which was super pretty!

The ones surrounding the lake were mostly of the whiter sakura type, which those on the main hill area were a nice pink color.

We watched kids playing for awhile and admired the view, then headed around to start the walk around the lake.

I had to get some takayaki for on the way!

Hard to tell, but it says “Takenuma Sakura Matsuri”

More on the way… the angle looking up was hard to get good pictures for, but it was still nice to see!

I saw a few of my graduated students, plus some current students fishing.

After a long walk around, we left for some time at home. That evening, we went over to Saitama, to Honjo where Brandt was celebrating his last night in his apartment, along with his girlfriend Mizuki, and his roommates Lee and Itsuki Chuck. We had fun just playing card games on the floor, and had a tiny bit of champagne to celebrate, then turned in early for Monday morning school!
